Win the Malware War
When the internet first began to develop in its most basic form about twenty years ago, it was supposed to be a simple means of exchanging information and nothing more. These past twenty years have seen the internet develop, and in tremendous leaps and bounds, to something that has changed the way of the world and of life. Like any major change, there are the good sides and there are the bad sides. Fortunately, in the case of the internet, the positive aspects far outweigh the negative ones, with one major exception.
And that is constant battle that surfers have to wage to keep their computers virus free. Malware was something that very few people had heard of just a few years ago and now it has become the modern curse of the computer. Malware stands for malicious software and applies to various forms of nasty and unwelcome software that invades your computer without your knowledge and permission. Each and every one of the many and various forms of malware is capable of causing major damage to the information stored on your computer, from system files to personal files. In its most potent format, malware is even capable of considerably affecting your computer's operation by slowing it down and even causing it to crash.
One of the most common forms of malware these days is the Trojan backdoor virus, which is a particularly virulent form of invasion. The best way to describe a backdoor Trojan is that it is a virus which, when it succeeds in worming its way on to your computer, actually opens a backdoor to your system. Also known as Remote Access Trojans (RATs), backdoor Trojans have ever more increasingly become the most dangerous form of malware because, far from being malicious or even as wide spread as worms are, these mini-programs have been set up to allow a hacker complete control of your computer and all of its administrative systems.
The sad fact is that there is an ongoing war to block malware that needs to be won. The only real defenses that the web surfers have is to be super careful on the web sites that they visit, which somewhat defeats the purpose of the internet; or to install the most powerful form of Anti-Malware programs; or to prevent and if necessary remove these backdoor Trojan viruses from your computer. If you succeed you will have won a battle. However, you should make no mistake that the computer industry is in a war zone: a war that may continue for as long as there is an internet and which has to be won. The war can only be won by freezing these hackers out, by using the most powerful anti-virus software available on the market today.
